ERA Not at Carlisle Show
The people at Carlisle are telling those who inquire that NO US kits (specifically ERA) will be allowed at the May Show. It's limited to foreign kits only. So, it would seem someone is going to be disappointed (those who miss ERA cars if they actually have an exhibit (don't go) or those who spend the money to get to the show & find out its "foreign manufacturers only" as the Carlisle people are telling anyone who asks).
Or, perhaps ERA which is there but finds its potential customers stayed away.

Hm, maybe one is not allowed to enter an ERA in the judged show? Seems kind of odd they wont allow US kits there as it is called the import/kit car nationals and a COBRA is the banner in their ad for it:
http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/schedule/import/index.asp
Also, ERA has been there for many year, as has SPF and others..why would they turn away their money?

I guess Shelby would qualify with it's Malta, England and African "connections".
Wierd deal if you ask me.

Yeah, it's kind of "poor" choice of words (ads), but they are telling people (who ask first before driving there) "foreign kit" means non-domestic (US) companies & cars: Ferraris, Jags, Porsche, etc..
They say they alternate and US cars already had their turn a few years ago (when ERA was there last).

TampaFLA Are you sure??? This must be something new. ERA is loaded up and ready to go. I think you got bad info. Without the cobra manufactors of the US this will be 1 small event. Rick Lake

Not sure now. Several people have said ERA is going to be there. It's only the people at Carlisle who say they are not (first by email and then on the phone back before Xmas), i.e. import kit cars only is what Carlisle is telling callers. Think I'll go check the Carlisle web site again to see if ERA is listed as an exhibitor now..but, even so, Carlisle staff certainly turned people away.

The web site doesn't provide any "exhibitor info." Maybe ERA and some other Cobra makers will be there? I've tried to contact them by phone again (busy) and by email (no answer so far).
Will post here any info Carlisle provides.

has anybody gotten off their respective A*s's and called ERA???????? To me, that would the the most logical thing to do before making any plans one way or the other.............

MrMustang,
Trying not to be a "pest" at ERA (on the waiting list). Very hard to do. They are very, very busy (too much business) and I've bothered them enough already. That's why I called Carlisle. Hoping someone comes up with first hand ERA info in the next 48 hrs.

If they only allowed foreign kits, they wouldn't have a show!

Bob says the info I got was wrong. Sorry. Sorryier still I canceled out believing the Carlisle phone staff. Maybe I can still find a room (and a kennel) in time. Great job by the Carlisle people I talked to, hope they did not turn too many people away.

Official Carlisle Response
My name is Chris Edwards. I'm the marketing manager at Carlisle Events. The Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals includes kit cars, imports and replicars. The information being spread about "no US kits" is WRONG. We absolutely encourage US kits to attend the show and their attendance is always extraordinary.
Today is the first that we have heard of this discussion and I would encourage anyone that has questions to call our hotline at 717-243-7855.
I'm looking into what may have been a misunderstanding by a single caller but I can assure you that the statement that "no US kit are allowed" IS NOT TRUE.
We would appreciate help from the members of this forum to spread the word.

Chris... thanks for checking in and clearing up this rumor.
I think most of us who have been to the KitCar weekend knew it had to be a misunderstanding...
...the 'barn' would be pretty lonely without all the manufacturers we see each year.
Thanks again

As computerworks says, people who've been before had an idea the info provided to me from Carlisle earlier was wrong (first trip for me). Hope no one else misses the show. Wish I had not cancelled out myself.
