ERA Motorsport Road Trip!
Folks:
This coming week Peter P. and I will load up some cars and trek out to Road America in Wisconsin for the vintage races next weekend.
At the moment we plan to take an FIA, 427SC and a GT. (But, frankly, anything that's close to the door of the shop is likely to be pushed into the trailer.)
So, if you plan to be at the races stop by and see us.
Somehow the siren call of brautwurst (which is the best of the wurst) and beer has kicked in and is luring us back.

See you there!!
I'll be there on Saturday. It is my first trip to RA. Do you know where you will be displaying (the cars of course)? Can I bring you anything to make your stay in Wisconsin more enjoyable...Leinenkugels perhaps? Maybe the twin supercharged cobra will be sitting close enough to the front door to make the trip, eh ?

Road Trip with Pepi
Rick and Turk:
Travels ( or should I say travails) with Peter P. are always interesting. We always look to stop at various sites along the route (T-bone Hall of Fame, etc.) that portend a certain modicum of potential entertainment value as we roll though middle America.
Jim
PS: ...and Turk, you've done the "cobra" thang a couple of times now; isn't about time to step up to a GT? ...and three years of calls to Peter P., etc. etc. (It's almost worth posting the deposit for the entertainment value).

Jim,
Portante sent ME a deposit of $2000.00 for me NOT to send in a deposit on any other ERA products.
I think Bob chipped in for one half!
Good memory...T-Bone Hall of Fame!!

I was there on Saturday w/ a friend and took some images that can be seen at www.imagestation.com under the name pancuronium w/ password pavulon. It was a great event (I bet the races on Sunday were even better) and I enjoyed speaking w/ Jim and Peter at the ERA "tent". Maybe next year they will bring a GT!! Does anyone know if the Daytona Mr. Redman was driving is an original (looked original to me)? Hope you like the pics!

ERA Road Trip to Road America
Folks:
It was great to meet and talk with so many folks at Road America. The weather was great (relatively dry) and the swarms of black flies, etc., that had plagued us in years gone by were not present.
I must confess that (at my age and stage) renting a golf cart to get around to different vantage points was money well spent. My vote for best "brats" is out at the Rotary Club hut at (dare I say it) Corvette Corner (and the soda is 50 cents cheaper out there as well).
Sadly the view of that corner is now somewhat obscured by catch fencing, but it was great spot to watch the 22 or so 70's and 80's F1 cars snake down the hill, through the corner and power down the straight. The racing was better than any current F1 racing I've seen recently.
We ended up taking my FIA, Peter's "clone car" and Danny's 427SC. (All of the GT's were buried too far into the shop to dig out. Maybe next year.)
All in all it's a long 2,100 mile round trip trek (particularly in a tractor/trailer type rig), but every now and then Road America needs to be on every true motorhead's agenda of places to go that are a must see.
Now if we could just locate that restaurant in Sheboygan with the "World Class" ribs.
Jim

...and the high point of the weekend has to be the visit from Phil Remington. Phil is the young guy in the middle of the picture. Haven't a clue as to who the two other guys are...

Didn't I see the guy on the right of the picture on the Post Office wall the last time I was there?
