Ordered mine in January and got it in December. 2097. Took 3 months to assemble and paint (might have taken less but the "shop" was 2-4 hrs. away depending on the traffic). Only thing I'd do differently is roll the edges. Probably keep that car for "life." Have a top for it but never had it installed...this is Florida afterall (year round convertible weather - hurricanes excepted).

I'll be stopping by again this week...I'll try to take a couple of pics. The engine is in, the front suspension looks done...it's right up front being worked on.

THANK YOU! Its so nice to see it coming together. I envy you guys who get to just pop in to ERA at any time. The office staff and I drooled on the photos all morning, I think they are almost as excited about this car as I am.

Almost here! I'm heading down (lower 48) to pick it up on the 23rd. Went in to buy the insurance for it yesterday and an interesting thing happened. The agent who was helping me turned to ask for help from another agent on just how to classify a Cobra replica. Well that got everyones attention and soon there were five agents standing there asking questions and telling their stories of Cobras. For about 20 min no one else was able to buy any insurance. Sounds like this kind of thing happens a lot!

Is it running yet...that was fast. You (they) got me beat! I'm glad your car is just about done...I will have to stop by the shop before you pick it up and check it out. I still have some tires over there to pick up, and a few odds & ends too.
Are you picking it up yourself or having it delivered? How will it be transported?
My own S/C (718) should be done within the next couple of months...I just haven't had the time to work on it much lately. I hope to get the engine & trans in soon, and finish the wiring harness...little by little it's getting there. Wish you luck

Well, it was suposed to be turn-key however there seams to be a miscommunication between myself and ERA so I'm not sure what its status will be. Rich's Transport is picking it up from ERA Monday the 25th and the plan is to meet up with it somewhere on I 5 and head for home. I guess I'll have all winter to finish it. I sure enjoy your gallery. I wish now that I would have gone with a big block. Oh well, I can change it later. Kind of sounds like you'll have to wait for spring to drive as well.

Believe me, the small block is a whole lot easier to build up. When all is running and sorted, you can enjoy the car for a season or two, then build up a 427 or 428.
I should be down at ERA before the weekend to pick up some stuff...you're a whole lot further along than me. I'll try to get mine running by Thanksgiving if I can...just too little time! Good luck...your car is really nice.

Only from September to May. We had a light frost yesterday morning. The summer was way too short this year!

mtr, saw the pics of #719. It looks great, best of luck with it. I like the color combination (gray/black). Do you know the paint names/codes for them? I am having a hard time tracking down the right colors for me.
Thanks,
Ron

# 719 arrived in Alaska the first week of October. Trailering a Cobra p the Alcan was a great adventure. Every gas stop gathered a crowd, and U.S. Customs almost forgot to ask for my I.D. They finally got around to it after they ran out of questions about the car. I now have a problem though, ERA dosn't make the primary pipes for a small block in the 427. I'm wondering if the primary pipes from the 289 might fit or at least be close enough for a muffler shop to have something to work with?

The primary pipes from the FIA collect together before they turn toward the rear. I suppose that they could be cut before they merge and 90 degree bends added (after about a 20 degree bend to turn them up).

A local shop completed the primary pipes this week and I got to hear the engine I built in 2001 run for the first time! It has now drriven a total distance of out of the shop and onto the car hauler and off the car hauler and into the garage. Sure got the neibors attention, had two of them in the driveway before I could shut it off.
