The *LOST* ERA chassis
According to the mustachioed one .. legendary chassis #745 .. previously know only to the enthusiast community as the *missing* ERA 427 SC .. has been located in a shipping container behind ERA's facility Along with another chassis of unknown ownership I have arranged with ERA to resurrect the hulk and complete it as a painted roller. It is now located at Tony's Auto Builders in MA, where hopefully it will take on the Baja Oklahoma Racing Team colors of bright silver with viper red stripes. Book rights are under negotiaton ..
For those friends who may be in New Britain looking for the thing
Cheers,
Sam

It was cut up yesterday and the VIN saved by a dumpster diver in hopes of resurecting a clone in the future. Sorry

.. and so it goes! I predict multiple VIN #745's will turn up, each claiming to be the original

I have checked the google earth satellite pictures of Tony's shop up in Mass. and #745* can be clearly seen out behind the paint shop (alongside a pile of other long lost ERA projects) as part of a unique process developed by Tony of "normalizing" or antiquing that includes a dunk in the Connecticut River. Lest there be confusion in the future, an ERA chassis #745 b has been sighted... although clearly #745a is more valuable as being the first #745, this unfortunate duplication of chassis may lead, in the future, to litigation or, at the very least, agitation.

The Real Thing!
*745* is an ORIGINAL ERA 427SC, not a shabby clone or replica!! No pseudo psnake .. the real deal! The genuine article can be distinguished by the indelible grease pencil VIN on the nose, and the half eaten meatball sub underneath the aluminum trunk panel Jim, thanks for the insight into Tony's material conditioning process .. I feel better now about why it takes 8 weeks to paint a car. Does it go in the river between each layer of Bondo and paint? I had heard about him letting the cars "cure" between coats

I checked with Peter... he's been looking for that meatball sandwich for a week and wondered where he had left it...
