428 Street. FANTASTIC!! My car - FIA #2117 - Mystic Blue - was returned from Tony's to ERA a week ago. A photo would be great!!! My Keith Craft 331 Stroker is also there - most likely still crated - but a photo of the Mystic Blue paint job would be tremendous. Thanks, Rick Durkin, Miami, FL.

How about a picture of Peter P. doing what he does best... eating a meatball grinder with hot peppers.

Yes please!
428St, #745 is the only silver with red stripes in the pit. If you have a chance to photo the engine bay and cockpit, I'd appreciate it! I can see what progress is being made from that, I think .. front suspension, radiator, panel, that sort of thing.
I am going to have to take the car minus the rear suspension, since my 3.31 pumpkin didn't get ordered with the last batch. Then they will ship me the rear assembly later. That way I can do motor, tranny, wiring, etc. and not be held up.

I was in the emerald city of New Britain yesterday afternoon to visit the wizard (you know, the one behind the curtain) and must have just missed you. I got there about 3:00 p.m.. Peter commented that you had been there and had a list of cars to be photographed... Did you make it up to the R&D shop? I do know they were delivering out an ERAGT. So as usual there was a lot going on.

Jim:
I was fortunate enough to go to the R & D shop. I was like a kid in a candy store. Wow, that place is awesome! Especially the 40 in the rear...what a treat to just touch it.
I can say two things.
1. Everyone down there is just incredibly nice and pleasant. One just as nice as the next.
2. Peter is a coocoo bird. The stories, his expressions, etc. are priceless. There is a sitcom there in some form or another.
Everytime I go there I am more and more happier I bought a car from ERA.

You are lucky. I have purchased 3 cars at ERA and my car is at the R&D shop and visit ERA 3 times a year without ever been invited to the R&D Shop or the Toy Shop. Even a wheel of my car was loaned to a customer and never saw my car on jacks. Peter is a lot of fun and all you have to do to start a story is to ask about his son racing. He is a child in a very old body ( I am lucky he does not know how to use a computer)

Peter speaks very highly of you
Jose Velez Peter and Jim H. bring you up on a regular basics at every show dinner at Carlisle or Limerock. I am surprised your ears are not ringing. Hope you can come to another Kit Car show in Carlisle next year. I did meet you in 2000-2001. Are you ready for another car yet?? Rick Lake

I am officially retired of doing senseless purchases (like more cars). I have to get rid of the SVT Cobre 03 since it was replaced with the 07 GT500 which is my last mustang. I am happy with my current ERA GT. I would love to go to show next year and Lime Rock. 12 years ago Lime Rock was fun with all the ERA cars there. I hope that ERA customers return to Lime Rock to make some noise that keep the residents un-happy.

Now Guys:
So, I had to go up and deal with Mini Mafia (a/k/a The Wizard) on my own. You all ducked out on me.
After shoving "Mad Max" (the Mustang "R" - for replica race) into the R&D shop (Ted had pulled most of the other cars out, so Jose, I can report that your GT does still run and it has wheels and tires at all four corners) we went to lunch. My nephew and a cousin (who has a car on order and is agonizing over paint choice) joined in the fun. (Every time I go to lunch with Peter, I always come away with the sense of having watched a shark feeding frenzy). After lunch we drove over to Bristol to look at two "Legend" race cars for sale. Now, Peter already has purchased one for his son, but these were ostensibly for spares and a "guest driver" to be named later. Speaking to him this morning, he seems to have come to his senses and backed away from more of this...
Then we stopped at the Farmington model airplane field to watch a couple of remote control planes zoom around followed by dinner at the "up scale" Chinese (it's in a converted I-Hop) restaurant.
Just another average Saturday up in the Emerald City of New Britain.
Jim
PS: I did see the "missing #745", now finally (and sefely) back from Tony's paint shop. It looks gorgeous and there is only a faint lingering smell of dried deer jerky that will soon pass off... I'm sure.

Jim,
Sounds like a good full day in the fields of Ct.
Do you know when you are planning to go up again?

JW:
Best guess is two weeks. If I don't spend a weekend working around the house on all those unfinished chores, the Village code Enforcement Officer will be stopping by to see if anyone still lives at the end of Red Neck Lane.
Oh, I should have mentioned that Ted had just bolted a 427 w/Weber setup into a black GTMKII up at the R&D and a medium blue MKI was going together next to it. What a setup! Always things to see. My cousin is now all hot for one of those... I did inform him that he was looking at about 2 and 1/2 to 3 times the entry fee for the MKII/Weber setup.
Send me an e-mail at jholden@bestweb.net and I will send you a picture of my FIA and Mad Max...

Era Visit
I am very interested in seeing any photos of the ERA facility and information that you may have. I am planning on visiting them on the 28th of September.
