THanks guys, for all the info. The 3rd option I am considering is Ron Randell from Metal Morph. I spoke with Ron this morning and also Walts wife from CCC. They both were very profesional and helpful. Anyone have anything extra done while at paint that I should be thinking about at this stage.

ccc is roughly 1500 to 2k more...in general.. if you're striclty price shopping you won't beat Tony's price for the work he gives you...that varies on the day, etc. from my findings...

If you're lucky, you'll get just as good a job from Tony's as you will CCC and you'll save a buck. So I guess it kind of boils down to ... "Do you feel lucky?"

great paint
I used Tony back in 1998...maroon metallic on my 289 FIA car...it is on the ERA site in the customer pictures and the 427/289 differences page.
http://www.erareplicas.com/differ/index.htm
It was great then, it still is.
In 98' it was $3500...really very reasonable price...with almost 10 years passed...????...to hear the price is only up to 4500, a real bargain for prep and paint.
Keep in mind, all the painters recommended by ERA are totally familiar with the body prep for any of the cars...427, 289, or GT-40 and that has to result in some economy in the body prep a higher level of finish for the price.
I am sure they all have different overhead and timelines, but you will be just fine with any of them I bet.
Pete

No first hand experience, but when I go by the CCC garage in Enfield CT during the summer, a number of times a week, there always seems to be a few Cobra bodies in process, must have a good business along with other Custom work.
Among the hobbyists in CT, Walt Wosko, owner of CCC, has an excellent reputation. He's doing business in the family owned garage that dates back to the 40's & 50"s. At one time, the building was a Studebaker dealership.

Had Walt at CCC paint ERA 684 three years ago and the paint is still in perfect shape. Had him do the extra clear which helps with the rock dings you always pick up when you drive the cars (21,000 miles)
Couldn't be more pleased with Walt's work. Great to deal with.

WOW ----21000 in 3 years!! I feel like a driving wimp. In 21 years I have only put on 13000 I have to find more time to drive I guess The paint on my old #148 is 12 years old, I finished it in glasurit and with a little care any 2 stage paint should look like new for a very long time.
Don thats a rare color combo, I have only painted that once before for a customer in Mass. (pictured below) CCC did a beautiful job!! and I like what you did with photo shop, very cool
