As for the bonding of the body, it's the best money you can spend on your ERA. They know how! My car doesn't rattle, shake or squeak...no noise at all...solid. Better than a factory-built Corvette. Once it's done, you cannot go back and do it again. Let them do the grunt work.

Kit arrived yesterday afternoon--on time and as promised. Kudos to Intercity Lines and their driver, Mike.

Will attempt to post pictures soon.

Great to hear you have your Cobra. Now the fun begins. I'll bet you didn't sleep much last night.

I have ERA #776 and did the bonding myself on an as-supplied powder coated frame. While I don't regret doing this work myself, the amount charged by ERA for this tedious work is very resonable. ERA's pre-fitting of all panels and marking the hole locations made this doable for me, but I still spent over 30 hours on the process.

Curious as to how your car is progressing. Have you gotten into the bonding and riveting of the frame/body yet, and if son how did it go? I would also be curious as to how the 7-1/2 inch wheels and tires work in the rear with the undercar exhaust. Is there much clearance? Good luck.

I'm still in the disassembly stage, but not for much longer.

As I did when I restored my MG in the mid-'90s, I remove one thing (part or assembly) at a time, treat it/paint it/wax it/preserve it/polish it/ or whatever is appropriate for the part involved, then tag it, bag it, seal it, and carefully store it in a specific place. It take a bit longer to do it this way, but assembly will go fast and easy as a result, with no surprises or last-minute chores.

The only "assembly" going to the paint shop will be the body sealed to the frame--that's it (no aluminum panels or floors, no footboxes, etc.). I will handle remounting the hood/deck lid/doors at the shop for final finishing work before I bring it back home.

I'm learning a lot about the design philosophy of the car, and I'm impressed with the high quality of everything. I'm having a blast, and I like the feeling that I will know every part and every nut and bolt on the car.

I'm glad I made the decision to do it this way.

I actually started naming some of mine. Lucy, Bhakkedowt, Pheloff, names like that.

How about Morpheus, Neo, Trinity, Smith, Merovingian, etc.? You know, names that we've heard of before.

RodKnock, you need to read more books instead of car forums. I know, I know, you say that you can't find the book you're looking for. It's probably because you've been shopping here:

I wonder if they carry Steve Harvey's new book "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man - What Men Really Think About Love, Relationships, Intimacy and Commitment"?
