Wink ERA2112 status?????

So Bob,

Marc keeps telling me that his car is in the works, painted some strange color combination yet he refuses to show us any pictures...OK, spill the beans, give us the straight poop on this thing. Does it really exist, or is Marc spending a little too much time with the horses out in the stable (if you get my drift).....Come on, fess up, it's not really a full size ERA 289FIA but a Revell Model sitting on his desk top............I eagerly await your response.

Sincerely,

Bill S.

I can tell you from my MANY visits to ERA especially over the last 2-3 months there is an FIA that is painted a cream color with kind of line green stripes, meatballs??? I think. It was in the "barn" for a while but I know it's being worked on by Doug...

It might not be the car you are talking about but it is a bit out of the ordinary that I have seen down there.

BTW, it is beautiful looking.

I can get some pics if you like as I'll be there next week.

I visited ERA with Marc and checked out his car and the one you saw is indeed Marc's. It has cream colored "meatballs" on top of the base cream color. The number 221 is the birth date of his son. Marc told me it should be coming "home" in the next two weeks.

Hey Warren,

I just find it that ERA is strangely quiet on this particular car Makes me think that Marc is having delusional dreams that he actually does have a 289FIA ERA on order . Bob, Peter, anybody, anybody.Bueller, Bueller, Bueller

If it's the car that I'm thinking of, engine and transmission is in(minus intake manifold), suspension is on, Jack was putting in the wiring for the seat heater this morning. I'll take some pictures tomorrow.

Real pictures, you know it just did not happen unless there are pictures. And no photoshop shots as I'll pick those apart in a hurry.........Boy, first I hear about white paint with green trim, now seat heaters, what's next, dingo balls around the windshield and neon lights underneath the side pipes.

I don't know, that looks more like one of those Revell models in a diorama, are you sure that is an actual ERA 289FIA

Bob,

Thanks for posting the pictures. Now, hopefully Bill believes that the car actually exists and is not a manifestation of me spending too much time with my wife's horses.

Your pictures really showed the contrast between the two different greens and the main body color.

Now, if I can just find a place to get the correct lime color dingo balls.....

Marc-Alan

I'm sure you've heard of Rocky Mountain Oysters. Same part, different animal.

Absolutely not true. I stopped by this morning and snapped this shot of it just to prove you wrong.

I thought at first maybe ERA was being quiet about the car because they weren't sure which connex it was in!

Unfortunately the colors don't show well on the web page. The white is similar to Wimbleton (slightly creme) and the green on the small left picture (front suspension) is the closest to reality.

We were going for a creme type base color and the stripe is sorta a lime green with the numbers in the wimbelton white gumballs a darker green.

And the small left picture is closest to real color that I have seen in a picture so far.
