Default Dash and oil/water temp sensor ?'s

Well continuing the progress on the car...

Ran into a couple of concerns.

1. I installed the dash back onto the car and it appears like the dash is a bit tilted from top to bottom. I assume this is normal but I do not remember because I took it off so long ago. Bottom line is that the dash is not perpendicular to the body. Is this normal?

2. The manual makes no mention of water and oil temp lines from a routing standpoint that I can find. I did find a diagram that shows the oil temp going out the hole under the fuse blocks and the water temp going on the hole to the right of that. The original cars had the water temp sensor coming from the drivers side, following the wiring harness, then crossing over around the front of the engine and connecting to the intake. It looks like I can easily change the two from the manual and I see no reason why I can not but want to pose the ?.

Thanks in advance.

If you have the street dash setup, and a heater, then ERA will sometimes flip the temp and pressure gauges around. I have the SC dash, so I can't provide first-hand experience on this one.

Ok. Not sure it matters other then the orientation of the gauges...but that is a guess. I triple checked that there is nothing hitting the back of the heater with the gauges, etc. Everything lines up and is flush against it's connectors. I feel 98% sure it is the way it's supposed to be but I don't know what is normal. Is your dash titled slightly forward (on the bottom)?

Yeah, I think it may be.

Frank .... I have the SC competition dash . Just went to the garage and checked and is angled with the bottom out further than the top . I assume for visibility as the gauges would be hard to read with a vertical dash .
Also looked at my gauges .... I have the water temp. on the left and the oil temp on the right , viewed from the driver seat . Checked with ERA when I did the install and was told to run the water temp. sensor line from left to right behind the dash and out the hole to the right of the dash mounted starter solenoid ( viewed from the front of the car ) , down the bottom of the right valve cover and then across the front of the manifold to the hole on the manifold . The oil temp. sensor line went from right to left behind the dash and out the hole below the fuse blocks , then down the back of the block , along the oil pan and then to the sump .... I have an Aviaid sump .
Hope this helps .... and is correct !! I also sent you pictures of the trunck and hood weatherstripping separately.

Have fun !
Bob
