2112 maiden drive
Today was the day!
We have had two days above 40 degrees, so I was finally able to open the garage door and trouble shoot a no start issue. Turned out to be the idle mixture screws on the carb.
So, I let it warm up in the garage, and slowly exit to my very long driveway. I give it some gas and go into second, and then realize I am coming up on the end of the driveway a bit fast, step on the brakes, and whoops, the not broken in pads take a bit more time to bring the car to a stop then I expected. I came very close to the end of the driveway.
I then let the car idle for a bit, and went up and down the driveway a few times, got all the fluids up to temperature. So, at this point I am feeling pretty good.
When I finally decided to put the car away, I shut down the motor only to hear a slight waterfall coming from the engine compartment. Turned out that the 3/4 inch tube from the expansion tank had a hose clamp that was not cinched all the way. The underside of the hood and various components in the engine compartment needed an immediate towel off. Also, to and to the joy, I found a little bit of oil by the nose of the car, turns out the oil cooler lines were a bit loose. Now, mind you, I had run in the motor for 1/2 an hour before and did not see any of these problems. Thankfully, I did not go farther than the driveway and was able to fix the leaks quickly. Next step is to dial in the carb.
So at the end of the day I am happy that the car started, moved under its own power, stopped (or at least reduced its speed) and decided to mark its spot in the garage.
I am attaching two pictures taken with my camera phone from the top of the driveway.

Congrats. I remember seeing your car sitting at ERA for the longest time. Nice to see you up and running. Speaking of long, that's some driveway! I hope you had enough gas to return to the garage.

Congratulations!! I remember seeing your car there - after painting - while I was getting mine finished by Doug. Nice driveway (unless it snows). You should have a blast in the Spring. Glad you've got her up an running.

"Da Bunnies (who saw it all from their hidden vantage point) said that the car wasn't the only thing to mark it's territory"
I think I scared the tail off of one those bunnies as I went into second gear.
"Speaking of long, that's some driveway"
Yes, its about 2 acres in length long....made for a great running start for the car. Thanks for the kind words.

According to "Da Bunnies", that was one of those guys from "Da Squirrel" organization, they scare quite easily and their intelligence is peanuts compared to "Da Bunnies" global network of spies.

Sorry about that, but you can see it on an anniversary of the maiden voyage at a later date.
"from "Da Squirrel" organization"
around here we spell it sqwerl, that is for those in the know.

Maybe you should ask him what he is doing on the 21st? Warren, can you bring your car up to my shop in Pottstown, PA by noon? Marc can fill you in.

"car at ERA right in front"
Thanks, and yes, the car was at the front for so long that when we got it home, we found items in the trunk that "others" had placed in there for safe keeping. I had to call Peter to make sure no one was missing anything of importance.

I could do that, but you have to understand my car is a driver not a garage queen so it has a few rock chips here and there.

BTW, Bill, "Pottstown," is that near Allentown, locals refer to it as "Hunktown"?
