The drive was awesome, it's about the best way I can describe it. Multiple thumbs up, horn's, smiles...when we stopped for gas someone came over and talked my ear off for 10 minutes....I could not say good-bye...
What else can I say...!!!!
I do have some sorting out to do...the engine needs to break in and the rockers need to be adjusted, the clutch made some interesting noises, etc., etc. All in all the car ran very strong and I have no major issues.
The water and oil temp were low and I have to call Doug on that...I have an oil cooler and I think he told me in cold weather the duct tape the front of the oil cooler...I forgot to do that as I was so excited just to drive the thing!
Water temp maxed out at about 80 and oil temp was roughly 60 I think...Oil pressure started hi, then went to rougher 60 psi.
The first rock that hit under the wheel well and hit the top of the fender well woke me up pretty quickly.
One last note is I got a real quick lesson on the clutch as part of the highway was closed (one lane) and there was a line of traffic going up a fairly steep hill. That was fun. Clutch is great though...Center force...
I'll be out today for sure...it's going to be 45 out max but I'll be toasty...

Stunning. Be gentle on it for the first 500 miles. Easy starts, easy stops, easy on the clutch, easy on the shifts, remember that even though your engine is pretty much broken in, the rest of the car needs to "settle and mate."

I hear ya Patrickt and I am. This is all new to me and I don't want to ruin anything so I am being gentle. The awesome thing about this car is you hear everything, the worst thing about this car being new is you hear everything! And some stuff you don't want to hear. I'm just going to run it as much as I can. I have a 5 speed and I don't think I went past 1800 rpm's so I am babying the engine and all parts. We'll going for a ride now! More miles, more miles!!!

Frank,
SWEET! I love the color. You are doing it right with the mellow driving.
Good for the break in but more important good for you to take the time to
feel it out. These things can become a handful in the blink of an eye if
one gets careless. You will enjoy it - come on spring!
