There was a red slabside entered into the Palo Alto Concours last year that had a roll bar (and Webers) installed in it. I thought it looked fine, but not what I would want to do. Jim has a vision and it's a nice one. Love black with red interior too.

That leads me to a question ... did any 'slab side' cars come with a roll bar? All of the photos that I have seen of these cars, they don't have them. Anyone out there seen one with a roll bar?

Thanks.

Haven't looked yet, but I guess its time to update the ERA website. Can't wait to see it at Carlisle.

Great looking car. I'm hoping to stop at Carlisle on my way back from another commitment I have on Sunday. Does anyone know what time everyone starts to leave there?

Usually about 1:00 pm
Jim
PS: I have forwarded on some more pictures to Patrick to post showing the interior rugs going in (with a nice shot of the top of Jack's head) and the engine compartment with the original style expansion tank ("patina" and all).

Thanks Patrick!
In an effort to duplicate the original look, I've had the Boyz paint the radiator and attachment hardware black, use standard steel Ford pulleys on the motor and use the old style expansion tank. As for the interior, the carpets are black with red leather seats and there will be a full small block street dash. As for the exterior, besides the as original wire wheels and AC knockoffs, there will be front and rear bumper "hoops".
Jim
PS: As an aside, Peter P. originally owned a small block Cobra that he purchased at an auction for a little over $560. Other than the red seats, this is to be a "Clone" of that car as he restored/rebuilt it.

Peter and Phil Gaudette straightened the chassis, repaired the body and ordered a new door from England. When it arrived, it consisted of a straight piece of round tube and a flat sheet of aluminum... you need to bend and make up the door. So, the decided to repair the original door instead. Peter painted the car black and then, with $60. in his pocket (so the story goes) set out for Colorado and his job as a door knob salesman. The car is still out there, someplace.
Several years ago Peter and I drove out to Elkhardt Lake for the Vintage Races. We stopped by the garage on Deerbrown Road where he had some repair work done. It was still owned by the same owner, who when he saw Peter, said: "F..... Peter, you still owe me $25. for repairing the front A arm on your Cobra."
Jim

Sorry, they are in my documents on the computer. To big for here, but you can probably google those numbers, and get the same pics. I think that is how I found them.......i2f

OMG, that body is beautiful! I love the Slabside, and have always been disapointed that the ERA "289 Street" car was just a slightly disguised FIA.

There actually were several street cars with FIA bodywork made by AC (not Shelby), so a "Street" FIA is based on the real thing.

May I ask how long it would take from order to delivery for a painted roller (turnkey minus)? Thank you.

Probably about 6 months, but better to get that information from Peter. He's got a better handle on the current paint delay.
