Default Oil Cooler Intake

Bob - my deposit has been placed for a 427 street car. Been noticing that some or the original cars didn't have the oil cooler intake. I posted a question on the All Cobra portion about this also. Is the oil cooler intake "deletion" an option on the ERA body?

Thanks Dan

Got any pictures?

I haven't seen any pictures of such a car except for the hybrid prototype. Peter's street car had the scoop but without having an oil cooler originally, I think.

Since our body mold has the scoop built in. Any scoop-less nose would have to be hand-fabricated. Possible, but would probably add about $500.

Bob - what got me thinking about this was a picture of the Kirkham street car that lacks the oil cooler intake. I know that doesn't mean anything definitive about the original cars so I started looking at some other pictures of what I think are original cars.

The Kirkham picture is obvious.

I had this picture of a white car on file and it appears to be missing the oil cooler.

I found CSX3329B and CSX3342E car photos on Cobra Photo Gallery that are not shot very low either - but appear to show a car without the oil cooler intake.

It's very difficult to tell from the photos in the Gallery if they have the oil cooler scoop or not. The dark colors and nudge bar may hide it if the photo isn't shot from a low angle.

I was just curious if this might be an option.

Dan
