slabside 289, comp. rear suspension and FIA 289 wheels ?

Is the ERA slabside 289 available with the ERA competition rear suspension and/or able to accomodate 289 FIA 7.5 and 9.5 x 15" knock off's (such as those offered by Trigo) ? The idea of a slabsided hot-rod is appealing.

I have asked Peter the same question........ His answer was yes, it would be a one off. Give him a call and I am sure he will accomodate your request.

Whoa... Don't believe everything Peter says off the top of his head...

Without special flares to enable a wider track, an under-car exhaust is not possible with anything wider than 6" (maybe 6.5") in the rear. And then only with the Jag-based rear suspension.

I haven't modeled the ERA rear suspension into the Slabside layout yet, but the narrower track is going to make it very close. I'll check Monday or Tuesday if things aren't too crazy. Under-car pipes all the way to the rear is definitely out of the question.

In the front, I strongly doubt that the (7.5" wide) wheel offset can be changed enough to fit without flares and widening the track.

What I'd like to see is an ERA version of the 1963 "Sebring" or "Le Mans replica" 289's. They were pretty much a slabside body, but with an aggressive flare added to the rear wheel arch and a "spat" behind the front wheels. Instead of FIA wheels, they used the kidney-beans. Here is a Le Mans replica, CSX 2156; note the short trunk-lid that was used to accommodate the Le Mans hardtop.:

The dash is pretty cool on these cars with Smiths gauges, except for the Sun tach and slightly larger Stewart-Warner fuel pressure gauge:

No one is talking about the undercar exhaust, we are talking Comp slab like the ones pictures above.
BTW: The slab is GORGEOUS!
