Any further updates, tim? April is ONLY 3 weeks away..... and my engine is just sitting on a dolly waiting for a clutch....

Tim,
Is there a chance you might be able to bring your car to the Sonoma Square get together in May? Would love to see it if you can make it.

Talk about "jealous", you guys on the East coast get to just pop in over at ERA, walk around and take photos whenever you feel like it. Drool. :p Man 'o man, every time a see a new pic pop up on this thread of the cars there, I just want to be transported to the center of the shop for a look around! Maybe I'll get back there some day.

Herman,

I talked with Peter yesterday and the car is done :D

I also have started the process with Jeff at Intercity Lines to have the car shipped, but as of yet, do not have an estimated pick up or delivery date. Depends on their load schedule, weather and so forth ... hoping for mid April :)

Looks like you could be back on the road before 2136 arrives ... so for your clutch ... once you have the parts and installed then you are good to go ?

Duane ... I certainly hope to, we'll see when the car arrives and how the motor & trans install goes. Will also need to fabricate some parts for the seat installation and the like. If I miss it ... I will be sure to make other events not that far after. I am really looking forward to getting 2136 on the road! :D

-------

I hear what you saying about ERA ... went the one time in August 2009 and hope to make it back in the not too distant future. The whole setup with the various shops scattered here and there and the 'skunk works' just up the road, it's a real treat to visit. You will never see the same car twice, that's for sure, each one has it's own personality.

Most of all, it comes down to the people ... Peter, Bob, John, Doug ... the list goes on and on ... true Yankee Craftsmen :):)

Awesome news Tim! So close! You've been patient and your patience is about pay off. Can't wait to see your car in person.

Thanks Doug ... I am ready and looking forward to it, and really appreciate the support from all you guys.

Tim:
I'm just waiting on the clutch now. Everything is pretty much ready.
I guess I can do some compression testing while I wait...

tkb289 03-17-2011 09:52 PM

Herman,

You are killing me ... ... you will most certainly get your can back on the road before mine arrives ... but not by too much.

Have not heard back yet from Intercity, but the plan is for a mid April delivery ... by this next month, hope to have 2136 home :)

Tim:
I was thinking, if you want to see an engine get put into my car, you can drop by Sat. morning if you have time (like a few hours) . It'll give you an idea on what will need to be done afterwards (ie. hook ups, fluids, 20 minute break-in, etc.)

I don't know if you want/need the engine stand but it's yours to use if you want.
Let me know.

tkb289 03-24-2011 10:40 PM

Herman,

Sounds like fun, let me look at what's up for the weekend and will send you a PM. Keep that stand ready, and the chain & leveler too !

Got a message from Jeff at Intercity Lines that 2136 will be picked up from ERA the week of 4/4 :D … no delivery date just yet.

You should have a few hundred miles on your new motor by then

Glen,

Talked with Peter today and have an update:

- ERA has finally received a shipment of primary pipes (headers) from their supplier for the FIA cars. A set are on their way to Tom at FE Specialties for my 302. The motor has been run in, no leaks and is sounds great ... but we were waiting on the pipes before ruining the motor on the dyno. Should have some HP numbers sometime next week :)

- Peter put in a call to Jeff at Intercity to arrange the pick up date. ERA will give 2136 a once over to clean it up, then it's on the truck. I would guess I'll have the pickup and delivery dates by the end of the week, or next week at the latest.

- Once Peter has the final invoice completed, I can settle up and get the paperwork and begin the registration process while the car is in transport.

:):):)

Great news Tim! Looking forward to hearing how the motor shapes up. :)
Cheers,
Glen
