Hey Tim, you run out of film or something?
Where the pics of you in the driver's seat going "Vrooom, vrooom"? Congrats. The eagle has landed finally. Let me know if you need someone to wrench on the car. I make the calls. |
Congrats Tim!! Looks awesome! Can't wait to see it in person.
|
Rodknock is right: Where's the picture of you grinning like the Cheshire cat, gripping the wheel, leaning forward, and making "vroom" sounds?
And by the way, you are a very, very, very patient man... DD |
Thank you one and all for of the kind words, comments and suggestions, I really appreciate it. :):)
The wait is finally over, and yes the wait was very much worth it. I am really looking forward to installing the motor and transmission, then getting everything connected, the car on the road ... and DRIVING IT :D I have had a number of sincere offers to help with the final assembly from a lot of talented wrenches the help will come in handy. Will setup some vacation so I can spend some focused time on the car. Below are a few 'as received' photos I took today. There was a packet in the trunk with a wiring diagram and other documentation for the car. All of the keys were cleverly attached to an eye bolt on the floor and tags for specific instructions were included as well. There were a number of boxes, along with the full width roll bar setup. I only ordered the passenger seat, which is a 'street' seat. It's leather and really, really comfortable. My plan is to try it on the driver's side and depending on how much room I have, order one more. However, if I find that I sit too high in the car then I'll order a Krikey seat with the padded seat cover. My guess is it won't be nearly as comfortable as the ERA street seat, but will likely fit me better into the car. The plan for now is to leave the transmission tunnel and rear bulkhead bare aluminum, I like that look. I have the carpet if I want to install it at a later date. I actually did have a short drive last night we needed to push the car into the garage, so as my (3) grown 'kids' pushed the car up the driveway and into the garage, yours truly was behind the wheel 'driving' with lots of 'Vroom - Vroom' gotta love it! http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/DSC_0474.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/DSC_0489.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC_0491-1.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/DSC_0511.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/DSC_0524.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/DSC_0514.jpg |

Kevin, The brake / clutch reservoirs are from Kirkham, I bought them late last year during their sale. They come with the caps and bracket and they are very well made. Initially I was planning on the (3) black cans but figured just a little billet bling would be a nice touch. I believe there is at least one more ERA that is in the works or recently finished that has the Kirkham cans as well. |
I have Billet Reservoir Canister envy now... thanks Tim... more money to spend!!!!! ;-)

i got the

Wow! Just saw the pictures!
It looks even better than the pics at ERA. The colour looks great. The black hoop looks great! The boot - OK trunk - looks great! Under-hood looks sensational! I'm thinking of emmigrating so I can have one delivered looking like that! Cheers Tim, Glen |

Thanks ... ERA does an amazing job and the body work & paint job by Connecticut Custom is beautiful. More to come as the car progresses. :) |
Beautiful - I love street Cobras!
Dan |
Congratulations!
The shape of the coaming around the cockpit of your car looks exceptional to me. The guys doing the body work dont always spend enough time to get the thickness and shape just right very, very nice indeed. Im looking forward to seeing more of this one.

Congrats tkb289,
Simply stunning! Love the street look without the oil cooler opening and the underside of that hood (bonnet) is like a mirror! I'm sure you can't wait for the first drive. Have fun with the build. All the best, 289FIA |
Congratulations on receiving your long awaited ERA. It really does look terrific and glad to see it made the journey home safely.
You can tell us - how many times now do you make an excuse to go into the garage just to look? -Ray |
Just got off the phone with Tim; he drove up this morning to get his engine (can you say impatient??? :D :D :D )
It's now at his home with tranny bell housing already installed. Guess it won't be long now before we lower it into the ERA.! |
