I think the Torq's would be awesome! Be different!

Looks great! I'll hopefully visit ERA again while it is still there.

While I'm a big fan of Torq Thrusts, I would run FIA's either in the natural cast finish or paint/powdercoat them white. But that's me. What do you want?

I almost ran FIA's on my 427, so I really like the wheel.

Couldn't go wrong with either one. I wanted to use TorqThrusts but couldn't with the larger brakes -went with Vintage 427 style wheels on my FIA. Nice wheels look great.

Well 2136 has been back from paint for a little while now and courtesy of RAO-3 (thanks Ray), here is a photo taken at ERA late last week ... you can just see the nose peeking out from under the cover.

I have been talking with Peter about the final build list to turn the car into a roller. Once that is finalized, and my turn comes in the final assembly area, 2136 will be one step closer to being on a truck headed West! Looks like there is no shortage of cars in various stages of completion at ERA

The plan is to have ERA build it out to a roller, but not a turn key car. I'll have the motor and transmission installed out here.

Default Wow!

Wow! If it looks that good on a computer screen it must be absolutely stunning in real life. I really like it.

It's a beautiful deep blue, which I'm sure will look even better out in the daylight. I think that all tkb289's work in trying to pick the 'right' color worked out well; I really like it.

Tim, gorgeous. Excellent choice.

So, did you figure out what color the block and wheels are going to be?

Thanks guys … and thank you Jeff for the photos, they are great! Connecticut Custom did a wonderful job. I am looking forward to seeing the car in person. In the sun, it should be a nice vibrant blue, depending on how the light plays on the paint.

Rodney ...

Good questions

The easy part, the block will be painted black.

The wheels … still pondering that one ... Plan on going with pin drive, and either the FIA or TTD (current version) wheels (15").

- FIA wheels: I'll go with the web either as cast or black web, possibly with a polished lip, silver spinner.

- Torque Thrust D (Pin Drive): Black spokes with a polished lip, silver spinner.

I really like the white FIA wheels on the Coupe and on the FIA race cars and would also consider them on this car. However, since this car has no hood scoop, oil cooler scoop or FIA stripe, but will have a grille … I'll have see how it looks with the as cast or black web FIA wheels. I can always paint them later.

Looking good Tim!! Tell those guys at ERA to stop slacking off and deliver your car to you.

When are going to spill the beans on your engine choice??

Jeff also took this pic - which has my #783 by the lift, Ray's #775 in the foreground, and Tim's 2136 against the wall. I don't know who else is in the pic. I have to say Tim, that paint looks nice.

Thanks Doug ... Yeah ... yeah, I'm working on them. About time to send another care package . The guys at ERA are busy as you can see, and as other cars are shipped off to their happy new homes, it puts me that much closer!

The engine beans are still cooking I have been working on the recipe and have some good leads for a chef. I suspect I'll be ready to serve some up soon.

The basics are still pretty much the same ... something with some decent power, runs well, does not leak or self-destruct.

- 302 Iron block
- AFR Aluminum heads
- AVIAID or Canton Oil Pan
- Roller cam (specs TBD)
- 650 cfm carb with 289 Hi-Po style air cleaner
- Mechanical fuel pump
- PCV setup
- Vintage '67 289 stamped steel valve covers
- Black distributor cap and wires
- A distributor gear that is compatible with the cam (don't want any surprises)
- Quicktime bell housing and external slave cylinder

Pretty basic stuff, and there are a lot of good options out there. I'll let you know when the beans are done !
