Default can a mrk II or III be retro fitted ?

I am looking at buying a used cobra mrkII chassis and wondered if any of the recent FF chassis up grades can be applied to the older chassis? or if any of you can suggest an up grade to the chassis. the one I am most interested in but have not seen in person yet is a mrk II it has all '88 donor car parts, 306 efi/5 speed (engine & trans are recently fresh).
things I would do to it are:
5 lug rear axle's & new 5 lug drums
5 lug front rotors & etter brakes
lose the original EFI in favor of a carbed manifold & msd set up
5 lug 15" halibrand style FFR wheels
3.55 rear gears
adj upper & lower tubular rear control arms

I keep hearing about newer cars having lowered floor pans & larger foot box's, are the mrk II's cramped that much that the need more foot room. are there any chassis mods that would make a great differance that you gus can suggest?

everyone of those "upgrades" mentioned can be done. Some easier than others. The bigger footboxes will require the body to come off

for really good FF info...visit the FFcars.com forum

As stated the mods can be made. You can get better help at the "factory five forum", a forum by factory five. Or you can go to (as suggested) FFcars. Both of those websites have lots of helpful builders that can answer your questions.

I have a MKI with does not have a pax side dropped footbox. It can be modified without taking off the body. Rear is IRS with '91 Thunderbird super coupe rear and brakes, disc. Fron't was stock '91 Mustang with Lincoln five lug disc. Breaks are now '94 ford spindle with Mustang Cobra 13" disc. Many engine combo's are available. Lots of part around to do all you want to. Just ask the builders on either of above websites and they will give you manufacturer and maybe part numbers

Welcome and good luck.
