Now you have to find a wicker picnic basket. Great work.

Thumbs up

GREAT SCOTT!!!
Awsome Job M8! By chance did you compile a build log of the transformation? Ie: A to Z photos, time req., cost est? Ok ok I know I'm asking alot; but you did one heck of job John!! As a hobby hot rodder/builder, FFR makes the best product out there. For the totally hands on crowd. & If Dave Smith doesn't get off his *#%$ & offer his statted FIA/street version Soon! This is most likely going to be my next planned project. Converting a MK I, II, III to a slabside; That would be the Balls! Thanks again for sharing!

Default Very Nice

I have a couple questions
1. How much was the slab side body
2. How hard was it to narrow the front suspension so the tires would not stick out past the body?
It looks stunning and very period correct, I love it

The body is a Mr. Bruce slabside. I think they go for around $3k - 4k.

For FFR Mk IVs the suspension doesn't need to be narrowed. Just purchase the pin width option front and rear.

That said, is the body accurate?
The 427 was considerably wider than the slabside. The slabside looks almost toy like in comparison. Surprising....

The Mr Bruce body is extreeemly accurate, all measurments taken from an original csx car to make the molds. The original 427 cars use the same hoods ,trunk lids and doors as the slabsides did, the extra width is in the flairs of the fenders

Don't I detect a slight widening of the front flare? Even if it's a MKII body, the flare looks like it's been widened.
Or maybe I should put my glasses on!

Beautiful.
The mold was made from my Allied slabside body, My Allied body was made in 1965/66 by Parrish Plastics in New Kensington Pa (4 miles down the road) they dropped shipped the bodies as Allied Inc from the info I've found Parrish made the original mold off a 289 slabside from Pittsburgh & only 3 bodies were made the mold was lost when perfect Plastics bought Parrish. This Body was installed on CSX-2575 in 1966/67 until 1995 when a FIA body was installed & I acquired the slabside around 1998.

Around 1970.

map, where does Dean Morrison come in to the picture. I bought one of his
slapside bodies in 1982 when Dean was selling Cobra bodies in Fremont Nebraska?

Sorry, the car is very nice!!!

I don't know anything about Dean, I talked to the owner of Smooth Line he worked at Parrish & Perfect Plastic & told me about the Allied/Parrish connection when I told him the history on my body he thinks it was the first one made/sold according to the fellow in Beaver falls Pa who bought the body in 66/67 & installed it on 2575.
