he spoke to diamond they said they would fix them, he said it it wasnt worth sending them back because he could take care of it himself it took about 1 hour.we have been using the same engine guy on our circle track motors for around 20 years, with 3 championships so i trust him he does nice work. the one thing i learned is machinists always pick apart others work, so in the long run i would of been better off buying a completed shortblock from barry or keith it would been easier but i bought as i could afford. i am using mass flo fuel inj so there is a lot of added expense,i have mass flo on my 342 now so it is already wired and fuel lines are set up.

I do not have any problems with the Pistons that I get from Diamond. I use some of their shelf pistons and they do me some custom pistons as well. I use Mahle rings with them most of the time but have used some Total Seal and Seal Power also.
If anyone has a problem with anything all they have to do is contact us. It is easy to get the wrong rings for some of these pistons.

Good luck, Keith Craft

Default Rings & Pistons

I'm a believer in Ross pistons and Speed Pro rings, and here is an eye opener for you--- You want to gap your second ring wider then your top ring. You ask why? Speed Pro has discovered through R&D that the gases that escape through the top ring gap to the second ring will lift the top ring off the ring land from the bottom if the gases can't escape through the second ring. Some pistons have gas holes drilled in them to alleviate this problem.
I would check with your ring & piston MFG.
