Not that Barry R. needs any favors from me, but he posted this article from the July/August 2009 issue of Legendary Ford over on the FE Forum and I thought some guys over here at CC might like to read it.
Barry likes solid lifter cams. Cheaper too. Interesting.

interesting article ...interesting in that he doesn't talk about restricting oil to the heads?

I think if the rocker arms have bushings, you don;t want to restrict the oiling, but if the rockers have needle bearings, you may want to restrict the oiling.

On older worn blocks I will often restrict the lifter oil feeds to .090 or less with solids - I don't block them off anymore. On new blocks with tight lifter/lifter bore clearance I won't restrict at all.
For the rocker feeds I will try to restrict to around .090 at the deck. Most old blocks, and aftermarket blocks, will let you tap that feed hole for a 5/16 set screw. Some blocks are drilled kinda large - I'm not comfortable drilling & tapping those so they get restricted in the head.
I like the idea of oiling through the pushrods - it seems to work for nearly every other Ford engine made since the FE. You can't really do both unless you're really restricting things though - you're doubling the number of leaks in the system.

I'm running 0.060" restrictors on my Pond 482 w/ a high volume oil pump and Ersons. The rockers after 10,000+ miles with this setup are doing fine. Needle bearings require less oil feed that bushed ones. Many different schools of thought on this subject.

This was not a "biggy stir" by any stretch of the imagination. I thought everyone had come to an agreement years ago on the FE forum that the basic rule on restricting the heads was .060 for solids and .090 for hydraulics, but you could deviate up a bit for solids, or down a bit for hydraulics, if you wished.

It depends on the rockers
I have tryed a couple of different things and found out that .060" and hard driving can blue and burn the adjusters on ERSON rockers. Running .080" is the safe number and also suppling enough oil to cool the valve springs. I ran .060" with a flat tappet lifter and stock adjustable rocker with oiling in the push rods and had no oiling problem. Did break to shaft with running a 501-533" camshaft. Adding an adjustable low oiling light or kill switch to the car would be the better idea to protecting the motor. The adding of my accusump also extended my motors life when I broke the shaft and the lifters came out of the bores (2). I do also run a HVHP oil pump with 100# spring, this is old racing school. At the price to build, repair, and have these motors machined, running .080" is just adding to the safety margin of running these FE motors. Rick L. Ps IMO this is for both street cars and track cars.
