Default Quick question about valve cover gaskets

Hey Guys,

I just received my new valve cover gaskets from Gessford Machine and I was wondering what gasket I should use. Since they have a flat machined surface
with no lip I wasn't sure and George is probally gone home for the weekend.

What has worked for me is glueing cork gaskets to the valve cover with 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive (follow the directions closely). When the glue has set overnight, I just put a thin film of oil or grease on the head and bolt them up. I've never had a leaker this way. My current VC's are without the flange.

I did the same as above, but just used a very thin layer of the 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive and used my finger to spread a thin layer of oil over the head. I also never had a leak in the years that I owned my Cobra.

Good luck David. Maybe you will be able to get in a test run or two before the rains hit.

Sure it does. What do you think causes all of the mud slides? When I lived in Santa Barbara we used to get some really hard rains, but not as much as is normal here in Northern California.
