Question edelbrock 7105 fe intake bolt length

would anyone know what length bolts i would need for the edelbrock rpm intake manifold part # 7105?, i would like to get arp bolts but the one they sell are to long, edelbrock makes a set #8507 but the quality is not as good.

You could get the spacers , like ford used to use. - or cut them down>?

why not get dimensions, and call ARP, they may just put a set together for you.

the arp bolts are way off spacers would not help and they are stainless to hard to cut, i think arp based them off a stock cast iron intake. the block and heads are at the machine shop, i could by the edelbrock ones to get the correct length. i figured others have gone through the same thing and would know the length?.

Use intake studs, not bolts. Better clamp without worries about pulling out threads.

Any grade-8 bolts of the proper size would do just fine.

undy, does any one make a kit?, i know i can use regular bolts but they would not match the rest of the arp bolts i am using.

I had nothing but problems with ARP's FE bolt kit with aluminum heads. The bolts weren't long enough and ended up pulling out the threads, on several occasions/different holes. The ARP bolts only engaged half or so of the available threads. I bought 2ea 3' lengths oy hi-grade stainless steel 3/8-16 all thread rod from a local fastener supplier. I cut the "studs" one-by-one to exact lengths and chamfered the ends. I also slotted one end so the can be easily installed and removed by a screw driver. The studs engage the entire thread depths now and I can solidly torque to 35+ lb ft now with no worries of pulling out the threads. The stud nuts now give me many points to bolt down accessories as needed (throttle linkage, fuel logs, halon hoses etc..) The best part is everything cost me under 25 bucks too. I really can't believe nobody makes a kit like this.

Threaded rod is nowhere near as strong as a stud or bolt of comparable size. With the threads cut the entire length, strength is reduced by up to 50%. You now have 'studs' that are comparable to 1/2 the required size. You should rethink your fastener setup.

That's not really true. Studs serve many applications and require many different strengths, grade 3, grade 5, grade 8, aircraft, to mention a few. The stainless all-thread I used exceeds grade 5 stength and the 3/8-16 stud will take about 50 lb ft before it achieves it's yield point. ARP makes a particular stud and it can serve a multitude of different applications and strength requirements. It makes sense for them to make a stud that can exceed the strength requirements of many applications, intake bolts for one. It reduces their required product lines. In addition, cutting them to length does nothing to weaken the stud. You're not talking required grade 8+ head bolts here..

OBTW ... the OEM intake bolts are only grade 5 too, nothing special.
