Default serious cluch problem

I'm using a 1" Wilwood mc and a slave to move the fork. I have to push the pedel to the floor to release the cluch and then when I release the pedel it is engaged with less then .75" of pedel travel.
When I start to push on the pedel there feels like there's a inch or two of travel before the slave moves...this is making it very hard to drive...any suggestions?

Two things:

1. How much distance do you have between the throw out bearing and the pressure plate fingers at rest?

2. Did you bleed the system well?

never measured the distance...not sure how I could see in there, any suggestions? When @ put the car in netural sometimes the car is shaking...step on the cluch and it stops! Thought about bleeding the system again.

Depending on how your trans tunnel is, you can get a flashlight or penlight and look up through the clutch fork hole.

Possibly either the MC or SC has failed. Since the SC is the easiest to check start with that one. My slave cylinder failed last week after only 15,000 miles.

Make sure the two bolts on the trans are tightened all the way down. If they are slightly lose the bracket may be moving somewhat and therefore you are not getting the full throw of the clutch. May not be the problem but just get under the car a check to see they are tight.

Is this in a new car or was it working properly and now has developed this problem?
As already suggested, check the slave cylinder mounting bracket. Adjust the rod out of the slave and make sure that it's not bent. I have seen these bent, I have seen the adjuster nuts come loose.
I use a 3/4 inch Master Cylinder. This makes the clutch easier to push and I believe that you will find that the slave is designed to be used with the 3/4 inch. I am not familiar with the pedal system that you are using. If it is floor mounted make sure that the adjustment rod on the pedal is set to the correct length and that the locking nut hasn't come loose. I also use a 2# residual valve with the floor pedal as it keeps the fluid from the higher mounted slave from draining back into the Master Cylinder. Good luck, John

I must have missed something,,, it sounds like it simply need's adjustment, which happens to all clutches through out their life from time to time.
