Blondes………….brunettes……….redheads……………natural or fake………..then silicone or saline……….no matter how you add it all up they all cost a ton of money, leak fluids once a month, and will make your life miserable if you don’t treat them right. Not much different than preferences in engines.
To me the Cammer is like the long legged blond that Blitz showed up to the drag strip with………high maintenance, lots of expensive parts and something that everyone drools over wishing she came with you.
The modern modular engine is the gal you end up marrying and mothering your children, always dependable but is plain vanilla in the sea of other soccer moms.
Like women these cars are part of the stage of mid-life crisis for most men………and the engine choice is not much different than the choice of women during these stages………..it all depends on how much disposable money you have to spend on them and what level of headaches you are willing to deal with on a regular basis.

Some of the comment in this thread make me wonder. If a friend bought a Ford GT and came over to give him a ride, would he tell them a replica GT 40 would be better money spent and $hit on the hood of his GT?
The point is, most of us lack the money, or the skill, or the time, etc. to build such an engine. Some of us lack all the above. For a master engine builder to share with us what he is doing is a pure treat for most of us. Above that Barry and other engine builders give us advise and tips to help us with our problems on a regular basis. Some times they share research results to educate us and improve our knowledge. I for one truly appreciate this.
Then there are those people who make a decision and then act like anyone who deviates from their decision should be chastised, and appoint themselves as the person to straighten them out. And when you point this out, they always think you are the jerk. They just cannot understand how what they said was wrong in anyway. After all, their point of view is the only proper way to look at it.

I have seen 2 SOHC motors in my life. I would give a weeks wages (if I had a job) to hear one run. If I want to hear a mod motor run all I have to do is go fire up my wife's Exploder. One thing a mod motor does have over the FE is that all that aluminum is worth more as scrap than the cast iron,

Funny you should mention - her name is Jessa Lynn Hinton Jessa Lynn Hinton ::. Official Site .:: and Playboy just named her Miss July. She was kinda nice lookin' if I recall correctly.
Oh yes - awesome cammer, Barry. Definitely the stuff gearhead wet dreams are made of!

Barry, you're a good soul and you might not mind the commentary...
...but it's giving me a PITA.
Thank you all for your expected cooperation.

If you have that kind of money to blow on an engine (weather a Boss 9 or a Cammer).... Who gives a flying F*@k!!!
Barry, When I grow up.... I want to be like you! Awesome build and a very unique engine for sure!
