I imagine it'll look something like this except buried more with the Paxtons and associated tubing and ductwork hiding the engine itself...
I can't believe people are worried about belts fitting in a project that's going to shoehorn a cammer into a Cobra. Wonder what they think about wide tires under skinny fenders?

Dumpling, are you familiar with the problems with belts and superchargers? One of the many reasons I prefer twin turbo, but I'm biased. Cheers.

Keith this is certainly a wicked cool build. I love the dual Paxton setup and to top it off on the cammer is about perfect. Sweet build can't wait to hear more. Glenn.

Number one we are building what the customer requested and he is paying the bills. David and Tom have already made the blower brackets, pulleys and the dry sump set drive system. This not a concept but an engine that is about 2 weeks from being assembled. We have been working on this package for about 6 months now getting it all worked out.
David and Tom are doing the car and the blowers have already been mocked up on another SOHC build. All parts are at the shop and done. Just have to assemble and dyno test. The Paxtons were chosen by the custom because that was what was used on the Cobra back in the day. It will have the same hats as well as hoses to carburetors like the original.
If we have a customer wanting a twin turbo for his Cobra and he is paying the bills that is what he will get. We are also going to be doing a couple of the original style FE all aluminum side oiler engines with the Paxtons for a couple of CSX Cobras that a customer is putting together.
I hope to get some of the pictures up soon. Will probably do a photo bucket set for them. I am sure that the assembly will take a little while as I am sure we will run into a few things we have to modify or make. We will keep you posted.

Actually, if you're talking about the Cosby Cobra, it used an Edelbrock crossram, if you're trying to be 'original', though I don't think Edelbrock ever made a crossram for the cammer. Mickey Thompson might have.

With those excellent flowing heads and the blowers, I would suspect the intake duration could be fairly mild. Exhaust quite a bit longer to exhale everything. I'm thinking it could have massive torque down low too. Of course the customer may want a huge peak Hp at any cost. I understand that is his choice to make. Any chance you can share the cam specs? That is if such a question is not indecent.

Yes I know about the Edelbrock intake on the original Paxton Super Charged FE engines. We will be trying to find two of those in the near future for the CSX builds that a customer wants to do. There was never a cross ram made for the SOHC engine that I know of. We could have done a sheet metal one but we decided to us a Dove Tunnel wdge styel intake with the carburetors in line. We modified the intake where could run carbs with meter blocks on the front and read. This was needed to get a nice carburetor for the engine build and blowers.
Have had a few guys on vacation but hope to get some pictures coming soon.

will there be room for a oem type water pump? hard to tell the belt configuration from the pics, but is that a custom crank pulley replacing the crank sleeve?

The stock crank sleeve is being replace by a belt drive sleeve for the dry sump pump.
The oil pan is an Aviaid dry sump pan.

Chassisworks will make supercharger gear drives for just about any engine and supercharger combination. So if anyone is looking for an FE version of the single or dual supercharger drive, basically you just need to call and order it.

We now are assembling the 527C.I. SOHC engine. I will get some more pictures posted. This build will take the better part of a week to do. May still have to make a few things as we go together with it.
We had to make a special plate for the 2X4 intake to mount the carbs that we are running. Hope to be able to run it in a week or so.

Very cool. Its amazing how many things people still find to do to Cobras.
ERA did a twin Paxton car for a customer a while back. Pretty much nailed it. 673-Dual Supercharge
