Default Regular volume or HV for FE 428

I have a 428 with hydrolic lifters and I would like to know which oil pump most people use for street driving, reg. volume or HV.

If you're just gonna drive it, a std oil pump will do just fine (mine does 55 PSI cold, 45 PSI hot). If you gotta race, then go with the HV. I began with a HV, then changed to a std pump.

what that of distributor are you using? with bronze or iron gear?

You should be ok using a HV pump, but you don't need a high pressure pump.

For FE street drivers, my own preference is to use the HV oil pumps. The mentality for this is improved oil pressure at the lower rpms and when idling. For a drag car and reasonable clearances, I'll use the stock volume pump. If the clearances are on the wide side for a 'performance' application, then it's a HV pump again.

With a HV pump it's advisable to have the oil drain-backs in FE heads modified to allow for quicker oil return to the sump. This will minimize excessive oil ponding in the heads, a problem with FEs.
