Default 445 fe weight?

i want to pick up my 445 from the machine shop and i was curious if i could pick it up with my jeep cherokee. would any one know what the estimated weight would be aluminum heads, aluminum intake steel canton road race pan , aluminum timing cover, no waterpump or flywheel installed.

Less then 500lbs I would say. Got ours (454) in our pick up and it was no problem at all.

I picked up a 460 in a Cherokee, so you should be fine.

Probably closer to 600 than 500 - but still no problem.

A couple years ago we used my wife's minivan to bring one of the EMC engines back to Detroit from Bill MItchell's in New York. Shoulda seen the looks on the magazine guy's faces when we loaded a complete FE through the side door - with a forklift!

i brought my 342 home from work where i built it with my jeep but i think i had a hard time with the height of the rear hatch, but i was using chain on the engine.i have a carb plate for the 445 so that should lower it a bit?.

I've weighed a 427 with aluminum heads, intake and water pump: 520 lbs.
