Perhaps (my favorite manual does indeed get in to some of those areas). But it certainly, absolutely, would have dealt with throttle linkage, brakes, etc. C'mon, that could kill somebody. I think Jim should just come out and tell us who did the work and then they can respond. And it always bugs me when someone says they're going to do something (like write a manual) and then doesn't do it. But you know that because I've *****ed about this issue for years.

Hi Nick,
The bind was at the heim end on the end of the rod connecting the cross-rod forward to the footbox pedal arm. When it went to WOT, the shoulder of the heim end would hit the lever arm. Cured it with a spacer. Don't tell Patrick that the reason I reacted so calmly was because the same thing happened on my car 3 years ago.
Two Home Depot throttle return springs at the carb (price tags still on), none at the pedal. Add that to the list of stuff to remedy.

Here, I wrote the CSX assembly manual for you:
1. Insert engine/trans.
2. Add gas.
3. Drive.
4. Tighten all bolts and fix all leaks.
5. Enjoy.

Yeah, I know, I should probably just let it go but it really does bug me because I honestly believe that the reason there is no available manual for the new CSX cars is revenue motivated. Now, mind you, that is at the expense of the health and safety of the end buyer. Supposedly they do exist, they're just carefully guarded secrets. I have the factory shop manuals for every one of my cars -- including my Cobra. I wouldn't buy a car that I couldn't get a shop manual for -- and if I had a car for which there was a manual, and they wouldn't sell it to me for a reasonable price, Jeez, I'd go absolutely ballistic.

6. Then laugh at all the ERA owners who actually needed an assembly manual to complete their cars.

-well the one that used 13,000+ posts belching about the lack of assembly manuals DIDN'T need one.
Kept the manicure perfect and drove Doug, Pete and Bob nuts.

Actually, towards the end of the build Doug called me so many times it got to the point where I said "Doug, if you think it needs to be done, just do it, you don't have to check with me." Absolutely true (and a smart move by me, if I do say so myself ).

Is that why you installed two roll bars and painted your car silver beige?

I'd still like to hear an answer from one of the CSX vendors as to whether a set of high quality manuals for the cars really exists, or whether that's just an urban legend.

NONE of the CSX vendors feels obliged enough to answer anything you ask. A manual or lack thereof isn't going to gain or lose them any sales.
Put this soap box in the cupboard where you keep the solid lifter, gizmo tool, buy ERA and dual rollbar soapboxes.

<sigh>... alright. But it would be nice if at least one of the vendors would simply show the token courtesy of answering the question.

You're such a "you know what" disturber. You know there will be no answer from any CSX dealer.
Writing manuals is not easy work. It's laborious thankless work and there's no money in it. I remember when I was a young spud, fresh out of school, one of my first tasks was to write an manual. Ugh.
At any rate, there is a manual for the original CSX's and I'm certain much of the material in there does apply to the newer CSX's.

When I was a kid the model cars came with a manual, its nice to know the kit cars come with one. By having a manual on hand when the kit is put together assures that one will have no sorting problems.

Do you mean this POS pictured below? C'mon, RodKnock... someone drops six figures on a custom built car and all they get is an old knock off of a skeleton-thin manual from the original cars? Great.
