You may want to go ahead and make a visit to Keith Craft if that's who you decide to go with. He may just have a block that fits your needs and can hold it for you for a deposit. Or he can be keeping an eye open for one to fit your needs. He had a block and heads that worked for me and I paid for them and let them sit for about 6 months until I was ready for him to build the motor.

Another reason to consider buying a block through one of the major builders is that it typically has already been pressure tested and checked for cracks and core shift. My 428 block from Keith Craft was $1500 I believe, but that was fully tested and machined.

Russel,
Yes we already new all that but the car has been gone for a long time just the motor left and memories. And they were called bumper top pistons, the bumpers were to shove the valves back into the seat if over revved and valves also have tits on them that line up with the bumps on the pistons. I have pictures, but don't know how to post them here! Also the 63 1/2 410 hp was with a solid lifter cam also, I ran a Crane Z300-8 solid lifter in this block!

I remember the 63 1/2 and 1968 pistons when my GT-E was torn down.
Ford did not make oversized pistons for 427 engines and my dad was a Ford dealer, so he sold the car for $800 and it went to Tulsa.

It is white now, it was lime frost when new.

The Internet has made world smaller!

Whereabouts in the UK is this engine? If it isn't too far away, maybe I could take a look for you.
I'm no authority on these engines, but I have one in my Kirkham, so I'm pretty familiar with them.
