Default 445 fe and spark plugs

just looking for opinions what is the best spark plug to run in a 445fe street engine using the edelbrock heads, 10-1 comp ratio hydraulic roller cam 750 quick fuel carb?. currently running autolite 3924

That 3924 isn't bad and you can run it for awhile and see how it likes it.

I was running 3924's in my 455" FE and I was pleased with them. Seemed to be the right heat range and their appearance looked good once I got the correct jets in the carb.

I said "was" because it came apart on me. My next one will be a 462" FE, and I'll probably put 3924's in it.

Default What ignition setup is in the car?

wrench87 If you are running an MSD 6-al box and coil I open the gap of the spark plug between .008-.010" larger because of the greater spark from this system. If stock with an oil filled coil, stock numbers are fine. I also run this spark plug 3924 in Shelby heads., Rick L.

I am running a 6al and a MSD high vibration coil, I was just running a .035 gap will i notice a difference if i increase the gap?. steve

Just curious.......what's your opinion of the AR3924 with the cut-back ground? Do you see any advantage to it?

Never tried a set back to back, so I have nothing to use as a baseline.

I mainly use Autolite plugs though, pick the correct heat range, gap accordingly, and run 'em.

I tried all the ProStock-style tricks-trimmed electrode and indexed plugs in the chamber. You won't notice a difference except possibly on a dyno or .005 on a time slip. It doesn't hurt anything but nothing you'll notice on the street.

biggest issue with different types of ground straps is that they are on extented tip plugs------making sure that the piston doesn't hit them is vital ( indexing if necessary)

And the wallet. I think the short ground jacks the price by 2X!
