Default Gaskets Kits for a 427

I took my engine out and plan on replacing all of the gaskets. Anyone have any opinions as to what are the best gaskets I should use and the best place to buy them??

Thanks in advance for your input...

HI CALL DOUG AT ERA AND SEE WHAT HE USES. FEL-PRO 1020 FOR THE HEAD GASKETS, UNLESS YOU HAVE AN OVERSIZE BORE. TRY PAW FOR YOUR GASKETS. IF THEY DON'T HAVE THEM, TRY DOVE ENGINERRING OR FORD POWER PART IN CALI. JEGS OR SUMMIT COULD GET THEM FOR YOU. YOU DID NOT SAY WHAT MOTOR YOU HAVE IN YOUR CAR? IT IS NICE TO KNOW THAT LOW NUMBER CAR ARE STILL RUNNING AND DOING WELL. IF THEY CANN'T HELP YOU WITH ALL YOUR GASKETS E-MAIL ME AND MAYBE A CAN HELP YOU FIND THEM. RICK LAKE RDCOBRA 428@AOL.COM P.S. I HAVE ERA 428 AND SHE IS FIVE YEARS OLD THIS WEEK. GOING TO CHANGE THEOIL AND CLEAN THE PLUGS, LUBE HER UP AND PUT THE COVER ON FOR THE WINTER.

Default FE Gaskets

There are a number of different choices in regards to gaskets. Felpro has a basic engine gasket kit with std 8554PT head gaskets (anyone need some of the 8554's? I'll sell'em cheap) std cork pan gaskets, etc. that is relatively inexpensive at about $58/kit. Felpro also has a performance line of gaskets that we use on most all of our builds: the 1020 head gasket, the black intake, oil pan, t-cover, etc, gaskets. These are much tougher gaskets and highly recommended when using aluminum intakes or heads. NOTE: if using the exhaust crossover in the heads, one must use the metal jacketed intake gaskets, not the black fiber ones.

For our performance builds, we use a special gasket kit that includes all of the high performance gaskets: head, intake, two oil pan (for the windage tray), etc. I don't remember the cost off hand, but it is significantly higher than the std gaskets.
You can always buy the gaskets individually and mix-and-match what you need. Just depends on what you want.
