Little worried about Darrell...
Haven't heard back from him about the engine results & data. He had emailed a couple of weeks ago and said that he had been in and out of the hospital because of blood clots in his lungs. Let's all keep him in our thoughts/prayers.

Just got an email from Darrell.....
He's fine, but was in the hospital yesterday for a heart cath to see what's going on. He said the results came out ok, but still can't find the source of the blood clots.

If only the blood clots could be managed with a simple Oberg filter and a dry sump pump...
Get well soon Darrell.
Great results on the motor Brent. It sounds tough on the video!

Well the last 500 inch FE I built used ported Edelbrocks, a ported performer rpm intake, same compression, and a little more cam, and made 580/620.
What do you think?

Nice to hear apples to apples from the same dyno. I guess Barry handily achieved his goal.
My engine will have less cubes a little more cam and no porting. It will be interesting to see those numbers.
The torque number is Wow. What do you think drove it that high.

The torque was higher than I expected, but I think it's the result of a large engine pulling hard on a high-flow, high-velocity head, with optimized cam lobes/cam timing. I've been experimenting with some different lobes here recently, and have found some dandy hydraulic roller lobes that make really good horsepower and torque.

Still a little under the weather (but getting better) Wanted to thank Brent for an excellent engine build. It is amazing what a "top notch" engine builder can do for you when you give him a few goals and guidelines and he listens and does his thing. Brent was excellent to work with and very informative during the process. I would recommend him to anyone who is considering an engine build.
Brent thanks again for the engine and I can't wait to get it into the car and let you know what I "really" think about it after the first drive.
Thanks 750HP for the well wishes. I needed them.
Also, Detroit Bill, stay in touch and lets talk about engines as yours progresses. Love your threads and the color of your car.
My car will be ready in June.
