Oil filter remote fitting leaking
Having fixed the leaks on the remote oil filter, I now have leaks at the take off plate. It then dawned on me - are the pipes connected correctly or is oil trying to go the wrong way round the filter. Your comments and wisdom would be appreciated - no idea which way round these pipes should be.

Hoses look backwards.
Hose on the outside of the block adapter plate should go to the outside of the filter adapter, inside fitting to inside fitting.

Bottom out in to the Left
Bottom hole on the block adapter goes to the left hole on the remote fitting.

Hoping I haven't overtightened and cracked the plate - will need to check on the w/e.

The hose positions are correct. I have them exactly the same on mine as shown in your photo.
If you overtighten aluminum AN fittings they will leak. Check out

As a guide on how much to tighten them. You should also be using a sealant on the threads. I have used Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealant with success. I just run a bead around the fitting, then screw it in and tighten per the instructions. This has never failed to provide a leak free connection for me.

Make sure that your AN fittings are aluminum and not steel. The aluminum block adapter will expand faster when warm than a steel AN fitting will and will result in some leakage. Good luck.

I recently had my oil cooler plumbed and the guy had the hose backwards. When I started the car there was no oil pressure for a few seconds before shutting it down. If you had it reversed then I suspect you would have no pressure too.

The anti-drainback valve in most filters would prevent oil flow if the lines were reversed.
