Default Police interceptor intakes and CJ heads

Will a 1966 alum police interceptor intake (C6AE-9425-E) work with 1969 CJ heads (C8OE-6090-N)? "Work" meaning will the ports and everything match up? If not, what is the best dual plane alum intake for CJ heads? "Best" meaning ports match and is streetable ... not looking for crazy horsepower. Be kind...I'm just getting started with this stuff.

Lots of mystery with all the FE variations but yes, an aluminum or cast iron PI intake should work with CJ heads. Most CJs used a version of the cast iron PI intake. Any mismatch at ports is minor enough not to affect performance. Here is a good article on 428 CJ manifolds.

Thanks. The intake came from a 69 Mustang S-code 390 car that someone morphed into a shaker hood car. The height of the shaker was perfect, so what you're saying about the PI intake being similar to the cast iron intake works for me ... I'll be putting this on my 69 R code ...that is when I have time to change out the intake. 8)

Thanks again,
Bill

A PI intake is a common upgrade on a CJ in a Mustang to save weight and it keeps all the same dimensions and connections. It is a direct swap.
