Default Breather Question

Hi all,

I have a 428 in my Unique. It has a Weiand intake. At the top back of the intake is located a rubber plug where I add oil. I bought one of those fancy chrome breathers that I want to mount in place of the rubber cap. Only problem is there are no threaded holes around the rubber plug to secure the tall breather. Any ideas ?

Tnx,

Jerry

Default Weiand Intake info

Hi Jerry...we run into the same thing with the Edelbrock intake....
I'll direct you to some recent images and the pictures will show you the way....
(1) New Intake with NO rear hole

(2) The Dove PCV Plate for a pattern

(3) Drill the two bolt holes and then tap them

(4) In the case of the Edelbrock you bore the hole for the lower breater canister.

(5) The Dove Plate installed with a PCV valve

The Weiand has the material to be drilled and tapped too...
If you need more help...you can call me at work....if you're worried about taking my time up on questions...just call the regular number 402-463-9844.....
What's Big Mike doing on this page....you ought to see what he's building.....I will probably own him some free work for this advertising!!!!
This is his Danny Bee's Dry Belt Drive we're installing....

Have a great day!

George

Thank you George. I figured I could use the breather itself for the pattern. The big center hole is there already and all I need to do it tap it for screws. My question is how deep should I drill and tap ??
Bottom tap or taper tap ?? Any suggestions on what size screws.?. I,m not a real expert on taping and could use any advise anyone has to offer
Tnx,

Jerry

Default Hey George?

Do you have a photo of the finished intake w/ the neck and breather installed?

I hate pulling my valve cover breathers out to fill my oil.

Thanks,

Clois Harlan

Hi Clois...I don't ever use the breather type mentioned above....was just helping with the hole pattern etc...
This is the PCV valve we install with the baffle basket under it...
