Default 428 Build. Heads

Well, its been a long time since I have posted here. But I finally have the financial freedom to do this project. Most of my kids are out of jail now (just kidding)

I am sure Jamo will pick up on this.

Anyways. I have a 428 block. Its been machined and I need to pick out some heads. Thoughts? Iron? Aluminum? Provider? Cost?

Plan to buy Unique body and frame

Mike

Last week I pick up a pair of Edelbrock / Craft stage one heads that flow 310 cfm int. and 245 cfm exh. for $1900.

Unique is a great kit and a short drive from Huntsville, as you know.
Several Uniques in north Alabama.

Tim has a black Unique he would sell as a roller. If you are interested. Add a motor and tranny and drive.

They have not updated their web site for the new head.

A set of Trick Flows will run $1920 and will flow 330 cfm out of the box with only a 175cc intake port, at about 32° total timing. There aren't any off-the-shelf heads that are comparable at this point. They come with PAC springs, Crane retainers, etc., or we can sell them with a custom spring package.

We are also doing some porting programs for them that pick them up to 360 cfm with only 5cc intake volume difference.

The out-of-the-box TFS heads on a 445 will make 550 hp/590 lb-ft here. A 465ci FE will make about 700 hp with them here in a bracket race form.

Excellent heads.

I think you are talking about David Wheeler's Classic Cobra. Dual four's, large double roller bar. California car.
He sold it several years ago, retired and moved to Florida. Don't remember who bought it.

Thumbs up Excellent!

It has been a while, Mike. I was wondering what was going on. I ran across one of your old posts over on the UniqueCobra.com site. Great to hear that you are going to move forward with your project! When do you think you will get the your stuff from Unique?
