Question Oil line fittings

I'm going to order all the oil line fittings and take advantage of the 10% off from Summit. I'm using the orginal style oil filter adapter, bracket and block adapter from Southern Automotive. Anyone have a list of fittings I will need? This is what I know I need so far.

2 AN-10 90's (oil cooler fittings)
1 1/2" npt-AN 10 adapter (oil filter)
1 1/2" npt-AN 10 90 adapter (oil filter)
1 AN-10 45 (oil filter)
1 AN-10 straight (oil filter)

I can't find any pictures to see what comes off of the block.

Thanks a pile.

I'm just finishing up the same job. Your needs may be determined by how you set your lines up. I did mine a little different by running from the oil pump to the oil cooler and then to the filter adapter and back to the engine. The reason I chose this route is because I saw several comments about junk in the cooler trashing the engine's bearings by using the opposite routing scheme, that is filter to cooler. My 427SO is also from Southern and I used two straight adapters, 1/2" NPT X -AN10 for the adapter plate.

Good Luck,

Jack Z.

I wish I'd saved 10% on all the stuff I've ordered from Summit lately.Details please .Do not forget the conical seals .They make all the difference in stopping oil leaks.Earl's is the brand they handle .hard to find in paper catalog. On line or phone worked for me.

Default fittings

Gatorac:

Couple of thoughts: You will need 6 hose fittings that go on the hose that mate up to your listed adapters.

Check out your Southern plate: mine has to pipe fitting coming straight out; I also used 1 straight and 1 90 deg from this plate. The problem that arises is; the 90 deg must be installed first; it can't be screwed in with the straight in the way. This causes a problem because when the 90 tighened up in the pipe thread it was pointing the wrong way. Your stuck with being loose or a full turn tighter. If you have room, what I do again, is use two straights; that gives you unlimited flexiblity.

You might also use a oil pressure fitting; and gas line fittings
