Dual Quads vs Single
Those of you that have duals would you do the same again? And Visa-Versa for the single quads.

I'd certainly do it again - nothing quite like looking at a pair of vintage AFB's on an original 2x4 Cobra manifold......something you don't see on a lot of smallblocks. Driveability has been fine, and fuel economy, well, who cares. My engine builder says he could have made the same (or more) HP with a single Holley and a more modern dual plane manifold, but I sure do like the look of the two fours.

dual quads: more money, more tuning, more gas, no more HP, cooler looking
single quad: cheaper, faster, less fuel, easier tuning, dime-a-dozen looks

Dam the gas, not that much more tuning,
I got more HP than I need and yes, cooler looking.

Mike,
Ditto, Mr. Fixit! I run dual quads on ERA 004 but because I was using the cobra for dual purpose, cruise and track with emphasis on the latter, I was going to with a single for this season. Instead I bought a 66' mustang coupe as a dedicated track car and was therefore able to keep the dual quad setup on the Cobra. They look so cool that maintaining that look may have been sufficient justification for the purchase of the trackstang!
Cheers, Pete C

Dual quads. Nothing compares. (well maybe Webbers but they're not original spec)

Yep, I'd do iot again...it's like being married to a beautiful b!tch, everyone thinks shes so hot, but only you know what it's like to live with her...a little aggravation, but it's worth it. FWIW, I'm pretty sure mine makes more power with the 2x4, but probably due to the manifold rather than the carbs...love 'em!

There is an old saying.. Those who can't, teach.. I think that might be the same about dual quads.. The truth is most of you are right to some degree. Why run 8v when 4v will do.. But then the answer is obvious.. Because we can.. If you don't think you can, you are probably better off not trying...
As for being hard to tune I have never found that to be the case. I'm not trying to be a wise guy but what part is hard? You want to see hard go try to tune a 1980 Honda CBX motorcycle with 6 carbs.. It's as bad as walking and chewing gum.. A real talent..
