Default Where to get 427 11 1/2" clutch?

Can't seem to find at any local auto parts stores,don't see it in Summit or Jegs either.Any suggestions?Thanks.

Summit sells an 11 1/2" clutch.. It is a dual friction unit.. I don't see it listed in the 35th anniversary edition.. But It is listed as a 64-67 427 unit.. www.summitracing.com

My mistake.. the 11" clutch replaces the 11 1/2" clutch. Centerforce does the 11" dual friction that offers 90% more holding puwer than the 11 1/2" OEM unit.

Wheels Mcleod sells an 11 1/2 inch clutch 360601# plate, disc there are 4, 1-1/16x10 spline 260232# 260132# 1st is street, 2nd is performance. 1-3/8x10 spline 260262#, 260163# . You can call them direct or try PAW, Jegs or Summit, for the best price. See what the differents is in the disc material. Good Luck Rick Lake

I e-mailed Mcleod and they said to use disc # 260863 and pressure plate # 360650.It's cheaper to get from Summit than buying from them direct .Thanks Guys!

FWIW, there was a post awhile back with a lot of folks (me included) reporting high RPM shifting difficulties with Centerforce clutches...they shift fine under about 5000 rpm, but there seems to be a little difficulty disengaging at higher rpm. No problems reported with McCleod.

I all reasdy had a McLeod alluminum flywheel. Two years ago Dark Horse had 12" on shelf but would order an 11 1/2" .Ended up getting my flywheel redone and cut for 12" clutch steal heatsheild .It now has multiple bolt patterns for many different sizes of pressureplates.It appears that 11 1/2" and 12" share the same pattern.

mr0077 You have the same problem I have with my car. I have a Gold centerforce and have been told it's not the clutch. We had a thread with 10 people about having trouble with this clutch company. I am going to take the wieghts off my pressure plate and see if the shifting problem stops. I have been told to try a hydrolic throwout bearing to fix the problem. I think it is possible that the shifting fork bends when the clutch is locked up. I have a flywheel with multi clutch bolt patterns in. GM and Ford. Any 11 inch clutch with the correct spline hub and throwout bearing can be used.
Wheels I would not use that centerforce again!!!

Rick, I think you're right...I have suspected the same thing, that the fork may be flexing and reducing the total amount of movement of the throwout bearing, but only at high RPM, due to the high RPM "clamping" effect of the centerforce clutch. I'm just living with it, since I don't race my car much (who has to? who would mess with you? LOL). If I ever pull it down, I think I'll go with McLoed next time...and maybe with a hyudraulic TO also...
