Default What spark plugs to use in Elderbrock heads?

I was wondering what spark plugs you guys are using. The directions say to use Champion RC12-YC, I've never have been a big fan of Champs,I'd like to use platium, as had good luck with them in past.If it matters I'm using Petronix elec. conversion in stock Ford dual point dist. Thanks .

You can use Autolite BF 32 or if you need a hotter plug, the BF 42.

Wheels. I'm with you. I'm running the RC12YC plugs just because that's what Edelbrock recommended but I'm not a Champion fan either. I plan on switching to Autolite next time around. I think just about any autoparts store ought to be able to convert an RC12YC part number into another brand for you. I don't think the BF32 or 42 is a direct replacement as indicated above. I use to work in an autoparts store and if memory serves correctly the BF32 is a large 13/16 inch socket type of plug. The RC12YC is a much smaller 5/8 or 11/16 socket plug. Even though the threads and gasket may be the same between the two, there really isn't much room for those larger diameter plugs.

I use the Motorcraft AGSP-32C
It has the proper thread reach, gasket seat, and heat range for most street FE's and has the smaller 5/8 socket head which makes plug installation/removal easier.

I just installed a set of the Edelbrock heads myself and did not want the Champion plugs. I just asked the guy at the auto parts store to do a cross over search to the same in a Bosch Platinum plug.
The BF-32 and BF42 will not fit the Edelbrock heads; wrong size, wrong reach, wrong gasket etc.

I have been running champions for 3 years. The best race plug out there, champion. I know some cup teams that have other spark plug sponsors but run champions in the race, don't tell their sponsors though.. For a street plug, I don't know but some hotter champion race plugs might be the ticket. I don't know what that would be in your application, but I am running 55's or 57's in my yates heads. Scott

I'm using Autolite 3924 plugs in Edelbrock Alum. heads on 428 ... Seems to work OK....
