Billet Dipstick In a 428
I installed a Billet Specialties dipstick in my 428. I don't have the part number handy but it's what the Billet Specialties catalog called out for an FE motor. I'm also running a Canton oil pan along with an engine oil cooler (but without a remote filter). Per the ERA manual, this setup should require 8.5 quarts of oil. I installed the 8.5 quarts in a brand new engine. After priming the oil pump and running the car, I pulled the dipstick and there wasn't a drop on it. Clearly the dipstick is not reaching down into the oil. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I not running enough oil or is the dipstick just not long enough?
