Question Anybody heard of problem using Ederbrock heads?

I have these and engine seems to run really nice, now that it's all together and running I heard that you should restrick oil passages that go to heads when using these.Anybody know about this, the Ederbrock instructions don't say anything about it.Thanks.

Default Restrictors

Edelbrock heads In CT,

My builder restricted my Edelbrock heads with my latest build. According to other Ford machinist, Steve (my machinist) had talked to, said the FE engines produce more than enough oil to the heads and to restrict them doesn't hurt a thing in fact it increases the bottom end oiling. This may not be necessary if your intentions are to just use your engine for cruises and not racing.
If you have any questions give George Anderson a call at Gessford Machine or you can call my machinist Steve Carbone at 918-835-6596.

It's not just Edelbrock heads you can restrict the oil to, but all FEs, for the reasons Clois mentioned. It's best to do this before you install your heads, so you can remove any chips:
Tap the oil hole in the heads (under the 2nd rocker arm?) from the top 5/16 - 18. Get a couple 5/16 - 18 X 1/4 long socket head set screws, and drill a 3/32" hole in the center. Screw set screws into heads, making sure the rocker arm stand & bolt clear.
An option is to get a couple pieces of round stock (1/4" dia.? X 1/4" long), drill a 3/32" hole in the center, and slip or tap them into the oiling hole in the heads. I'm sorry, you'll have to measure the current hole size yourself. I can't remember.
Good Luck,

Dan

you should restrict the passages when using a roller rocker style rocker arm with any head.
