Default 427 crank and rod identification

I need some help on some 427 parts I.D. I bought some 427 parts at a swap meet. I thought they were 427 lemans rods and crank. When I put the rods next to my old set they were alot heavier, and the part #s were different. on the crank there is the
marking $F and a C9AZ part # stamped.The rods are marked

C7OE-A on one side
55N on the other side.

Thanks for the space and time , Robert.

I'm at work so I don't have the part #s in front of me but it sounds like you bought a Nascar crank and rods. Measure the rod width and if it is .080" wider than the LeMans rods you have now then they're Nascar. Nascar rods also came with the beams polished from the factory. The crank's rod journals are .080" wider an can only be used with the matching rods. Rod bearings are very difficult to find and I don't think they ever made any in .010" undersize. I think they were only available in standard, .001", .002" and .003" undersize and only available from Ford.

Those are Nascar rod #'s and they weigh almost 150 grams heavier. The # I have for the Nascar crank is C9AE instead of Z, but if the rods fit it is probably the Nascar crank also.

Tunnelwedge Hi Bob This is what I have for your numbers, C9az-6303-d is wide crank Nascar crank. You need C9AZ-6303D rods for that crank or C7OE_6200-A The second rod is 980 grams heavier that the normial rods. I will find the bearing numbers and E-mail you latter Rick Lake
