Default Fuel Pump for a 2x4 SetUp?

What electric fuel pump are you guys running?

Has anyone thought of runnig two fuel pumps (one for each carb)?

Just sitting here watching the rain and couldn't think of anything else to ask.

Clois

By the way I am running a single Holley blue fuel pump w regulator.

Clois,

I have a 140 gph unit back at the tank with a fram filter. I used the stock B&B fuel line, 5/16", as a return line and ran a new 3/8" line down the passenger side of the frame. The setup I bought was a kit from Summit that included the pump, filter, pressure regulator, lines and AN fittings. I will post more pictures to my gallery tonight. Let me know if you want more information.

Great looking engine! Have you had your body on yet and set your hood over your engine? My 2x4 air cleaner would not fit under my hood. But I have a taller intake manifold than you.

Clois,

Thanks!. Just finished the body this weekend and drove it for the first time, felt great. I just posted a couple more pictures of the air cleaner clearance. It just barely clears (1/4") at the front and slightly rubs at the back. I have a C3AE-H low riser mainifold, K&N air filter (which I think is thinner than the original) and 1" spacers on top of the carb's in order to clear the MSD distributor. The bottom plate is a sheet metal unit and obvously thinner than the stock aluminum bottom plate. I will be changing the spacers to 1/2" and use 1/4" carb base spacers to stop the back rub.

Will post more pictures to my gallary this weekend now that I have it nearly done (just interior left).

Electric fuel pumps scare me ever since I saw a Mercedes 500 SL burst into flames when a fuel line ruptured and no one thought to kill the power. It burned to the ground.

A mechanical pump stops pupping when the engine stops running. Carter makes a fine 120 gpm mechanical unit.

Clois,

SCOBRAC is right about the fuel pump cut-off. I used a pressure switch tee'd to the oil pressure sending unit to control the relay for the fuel pump. The pressure switch will stop the fuel pump at 3 psi. The relay and fuse unit are installed in the trunk next to the battery.
