Erson Roller Rockers for Edelbrock Heads
When I designed the Erson roller rockers, the Edelbrock FE heads were just getting started so I designed the rockers to fit standard 390/428 heads. They can be used on Edelbrock and 427 heads but they must be taken apart and shims moved around in order to match the valve spacing of the Edelbrock/427 heads.
Because so many people are now using Erson rockers on Edelbrock heads, we have released a new part number with the rockers already adjusted for Edelbrock/427 heads: Rockers for Edelbrock/427 heads: E918503 Rockers for standard 390/428 type heads: E918502 |
How good are the Ersons?, I use original 427 and 428 rockers in my cars!
|
The Ersons are probably the best....next to T&D's.
|
T&Ds...what I have. Muy goodo IMO.
|
What are T&Ds'?
|
It's a brand of roller rockers. Instead of using the regular studs that usually hold the shafts down, they use the head fasteners. Very high quality and very stout.
The Ersons are rated for spring pressures of 800 lbs. If you ever plan to use a solid roller cam with spring pressures over 500 lbs or so, you'll see how factory shafts and hardware hold up. |
To they fid in the stock valve covers? and what does T&D stand for?
|
They will fit in most valve covers. I guess it depends on what you have. I have a buddy with a set and they fit under the chrome pentroof valve covers.
To be honest, I don't know what T&D stands for. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/s...0&ppuser=12166 |
Awsome, great, thanks!

I have over 8000 miles on mine and just one adjustment around 500 miles.
They are excellent rockers. |
T&D Machine Products is the name of the company. Here's a link to their WEB site: http://www.tdmach.com/
What exactly T&D stands for is a good question. Probably the initials for the pricipals in the company. Larry Tores is the name of the President so maybe the T stands for Tores. :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: |

When are these assemblies going to be available? Both Jegs and Summit say "no such thing, they most likely aren't released yet". |
Keith Craft and Flatlander have them available among others I'm sure. They've been out for a while. I think they're around $650 a set.

I believe the T&D's are about $1,300.
|
I should also say that the Viper owners swear by them (T&D's).

T&D are great and need about $300.00 of head work to machine the mounting pads flat for the assembly. Jesel also makes a great setup about the same price. Which Ersons fit the Shebly heads? What number? Rick L

I have had mine (Sig Erson) for about 5 years and they have been a great investment. Easy to adjust and reliable. Believe it or not they actually cooled my oil by about 10 degrees. But, that was my old 428 engine. The 427 has the opposite problem (I have trouble getting my oil hot enough, 220 or 230 deg is what I would like to see).
|
Clois,
I consider that hot for oil, I normally like to see the oil temp around 190-200. I also have the same problem. Takes forever to get the oil temp up. And that is in Fresno CA. |
