I belive the cylinders are meant to be final honed by the builder to acheive the wanted piston to wall clearance,Tk

Sizzler...can you link me to the German post above... about the Shelby Block problem....I'd like to read it all and see the outcome...

@Sizzler

Thankx for including my post - and exposing it to a wider audience.

@George: We havenŽt gotten any further yet.
I assume if a block is rough bored - then we know it has to be finish honed to size. No problem!
What really puzzled us, was that the walls are finish honed to a perfect crosshatch - but slightly undersized and with a 4 thou taper small at top, larger at bottom. We asked ourselves why Shelby would they do that ?? Is that a requirement for the aluminum block ?? That is wat got this thread started.

From all the feedback we have recieved we conclude, that weŽll just have to have that corrected and move on.
