Default 427 service block ?

Looking at TO service block, rebuilders slip say's regrind crank and cut for rear main seal. Would this indicate a reverse rotation engine. thanks in advance Bob

Hey Bob, It's Glenn (FFR1990). does the block have a C6JE or C7JE casting number? If so yes it's a marine block. Can you tell me the casting number? Also these were some of the best "27" blocks made. Cast as a sideoiler but drilled as center or topoiler. Sounds like the crank is a reverse rotation also. Good luck. G.

Yes those pesky service blocks with no #'s. I had a 28 block the same way. Wasn't sure if the 27's were the same. The heads are indeed the marine type and are similar to the low riser type. If the crank is a revese rotation ot should carrie the C5JE-B or C6JE-D casting numbers. These are the 2 i've got listed for the RR marine cranks. Rods are the STD 27 bolt and nut type. Block has the crossbolts yes? Sounds like a good find if the $$$ is not too steep. Hope this helps, G.
