2nd SFfiredog attention to detail! I had the pleasure of spending half a day with Mike during a b-trip to S.F. late last year and his work is terrific - as the photos clearly show. He has innovative ideas like the oil supply line that feeds the rear of the main galley off of the oil filter housing (correct me if I'm wrong Mike). I hope to have a Mike rendition of a a BIG cube motor in my car some day as well. Great work!

Hi Wilfy,

My tunnel port heads were cast by Dove Mfg. It took a year and three sets of heads before I got a set that were usable but, If you want aluminum tunnel ports, they are the only game in town.
Ford did produce some aluminum tunnel ports for the '67 GT-40 program but they are extremely rare and expensive.
My heads actually have the SK based GT-40 part numbers cast into them, which is kinda cool.

Rick, the distributor is a MSD pro-billet with the cap painted black.

Mike - thanks again for the oil pressure problem solution. I ended up using a Ford Power parts stud with no maching of head required.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but one more question for the expert(s). What is the basis for backfiring on only one side of the engine(passenger)? No timing changes, no exhaust leaks & using webers? You can email me your thoughts to keep out of this tread? Thanks!

Tony,
Seeing how the engine ran fine before it was dissassmenbled the backfiring is most likely being caused by the throttle linkage on the passenger side being slightly out of adjusment. This might have happened when you had the heads off.
Disconnect the linkage an make sure the throttle blades are all closed the same amount. The tiniest variance in blade opening can cause backfiring.
