Default Fuel Milage

I know that when your dealing with a Cobra or street rod that you dont worry about fuel milage, but im just corious to know what the fuel milage in your FE Cobras are. I am probably going to go with an Everett- Morrison Geneation IV with a 390 FE.

Smile did u mean SMILES per Gallon??

I get around 7-8mpg while not stepping too hard on the go-pedal.. With only a fuel pressure guage and a 40+ gallon tank, u still need to be aware of mpg.
Just fill er up and drive!

I know you said "FE", but I'll toss in my .02 here anyway. My 418W made 499HP and 524TQ on the dyno and I was a little bit worried about fuel mileage with an 18 gallon cell; not for the cost, but because I wanted to be able to go a reasonable distance (200+ miles) between fill-ups on a road trip. I was hoping for 10-12 mpg and was delighted to find that I can get 13-14 around town and 16+ on the highway.

If my car got 6 miles to the gallon and gas were $5.00, I'd still be smiling; I'd just need a bigger gas tank!

With the 0.68 OD, I get 15+ on the highway. When running hard and fun and just being stupid, I get about 4-5. 408W, 508 hp and 544 TQ on the dyno.

Who cares?

Ran outta gas once, now I know that the gauge lies a little bit and that won't be happening again. Running outta gas sucked because it's dead and you're pumping the pedal hoping to squirt a little more in there to get another 50 yards and all the sudden you go from 0 to 500 horsepower immediately. The people in the line of cars behind me couldn't have been too amused!!
